Make money using Twitter!
A few posts back, I talked about how you could become an online affiliate marketer and make that your internet business. I mostly shared general information about where to go to find information about being an online affiliate marketer, but I didn’t talk much about where or how you could make money online. There are lots of ways to advertise and make money online. Some of them cost lots of money, and others are relatively cheap. The only problem with the relatively cheap methods, is that they take a lot of time and don’t necessarily yield fast results. Using Twitter to market, however, can speed up your creation of an internet business and your money making.
How to setup a Twitter Account?
First things first! Setting up a Twitter account is simple. Just go to twitter.com and enter your full name, email, a password of your choosing into the new to twitter box in the middle of the page on the right hand side and click on the yellow sign up button. After that you will be directed to a more detailed setup page. The only addition you’ll have to make here is choosing your username, which can only be comprised of alphanumeric characters and can only be 14 characters long.
After you’ve done that, you’ll be directed to a page that asks you about your interests and gives you suggestions about which areas to look in and which areas to find people to follow. Look through them and follow the people you would like to. I personally try to follow everyone I can. I found that helps me get more followers, which, as you’ll see, is important for making money online with Twitter.
How do I choose my username?
Choosing a username is fairly simple. You’ll want to choose something that describes what you are doing on Twitter. Since you’re trying to sell things you will probably want to have your username say something about deals and savings.
What is tweeting and how do I?
To make a very archaic comparison, Twitter is the telegraph of news. Basically, this is a service that allows people to communicate or share news and information in 140 characters or less. So every time you decide to share something, you need to do it in 140 characters or less. Sharing something in 140 characters is called tweeting. People who follow you will see the information you share and be able to act accordingly. Since you will be tweeting information about offers, you’ll want to share a shortened link (goo.gl provides a great service and lets you keep track of how many people have clicked on your link), and also a brief, but effective, description.
How do I make money by using Twitter?
To make money using Twitter, make sure that you are signed up with either Amazon.com as an associate, or on CJ.com (see this post for more information). Once you have done that, go find offers that you would like to promote, get links from Amazon or CJ.com and start sharing them on Twitter. You will make money every time someone follows your link and completes the action specified by CJ.com or by Amazon.com. In order to make commissions from Amazon, the customers will have to actually buy what you are advertising. CJ.com commissions will come depending on what the specific advertiser sets as his or her payout method. Getting paid per click usually yields a quicker return on your investment, but you may not make a lot of money. If you can get someone to make a purchase from your advertisement, your commission will be a lot larger.
The most important thing is consistency. Make sure that you regularly tweet new deals and offers. That way you will get more followers. The more followers you have, the more likely you will be to sell more and make more money online from your internet business!

Hey, i was wondering how exactly to post the links, because wouldn’t it just show up in html or are you meaning the url?
July 23, 2011 at 9:24 pm |
Posting links usually means getting the code from a publisher and putting in the html on your site. If you have a wordpress or blogger blog, all you need to do is add a gadget tthat allows you to paste the html in the gadget and then once you hit save, the gadget will appear on your blog with the banner or text ad that you have chosen to post. I’ll try to add some screen shots on Monday to give you a better idea.
