There are so many headaches with getting your internet business up and running. You have to make sure it looks right, has the right content, is hosted well, has an effective integration for a store, has the right security features, targets the right customer, and on and on! Writing articles is 100% free and it is very effective in the long run! Though it does take the effort of writing the artricles, and you may wait a while to see the results, this is definitely worth it.

Since the whole point of writing these articles is to direct people to your site, then it would make sense to write about your subject or topic. So if your site is about weddings, then you would want to write articles about weddings and give helpful tips about them.
What do I do with the articles?
Once you have written the articles, you will want to submit them to the leading directories out there. These directories will promote your articles or at least make them available to people. This will, eventually, increase the readership or viewership of your website, which is what you’re going for!
Two of the tops sites for this are ezinarticles.com and goarticles.com. Both of these sites will provide you a space at the end of every article to include some important information. This area is called a resource box and you will be able to include details about yourself and your website. Make sure to take advantage of this and put your information there or your article writing will be worthless!
Forum Marketing
No matter how unique your website is, odd are that there will be at least thousands of other people who have interest about the same subject. Most likely they are already using an online forum to discuss the subject. In fact, many people who share similar interests use online forums to gather and discuss what they’re interested in. So the best thing that you can do will be to find these forums and join them! You’ll likely be allowed to add what is called a signature file, which lets you put a link to your website and maybe your name. Just be warned that you won’t be able to overtly promote your site, so this signature file becomes important. Once you’ve joined the community and have become actively involved, inviting people to view your site shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Traffic Exchanges
This last method doesn’t have the best reputation in the online world, but that comes mostly from being misunderstood. These sites allow people to join and view others’ websites which, in return, will earns them credits that they can use on the site to have it drive people to their own website.
A lot of people try to use the first page that people come to, to sell a product. This generally doesn’t work and makes people shun that site altogether. The whole point is to have something to offer people that enriches their web-browsing experience, or life. Remember that a great salesman doesn’t sell a product, he sells value. So make sure that you send people to a page that enhances them in some way. Different ways to do this are to give away free things, hold a rally, give good information, offer to send out a free newsletter every week, etc.
